About The VFX Circle

A community built to connect, empower, and elevate visual effects artists across the continent.

Our Story

The VFX Circle was founded to help strengthen the relationship between production and post-production across the African film and television industry.

As the demand for visual effects continues to grow, there is still a gap in understanding how VFX can be used effectively throughout the filmmaking process. Many productions engage with VFX too late, underestimate its role, or miss opportunities to use it as a creative and cost-effective tool.

At the same time, VFX professionals often work in isolation, with limited access to industry networks, knowledge-sharing platforms, and professional development opportunities.

The VFX Circle was created to address these challenges by bringing together professionals from across the production pipeline. Through education, workshops, networking, mentorship, and industry collaboration, we aim to demystify visual effects, share knowledge, and equip filmmakers with the tools and understanding needed to make informed creative and production decisions.

Our vision is a stronger, more connected industry where production and post-production work together from the outset, unlocking the full potential of visual effects in African storytelling.

Our Vision

To build a globally competitive African VFX industry driven by collaboration, access, and opportunity.

Our Mission

To connect, empower, and elevate VFX professionals across Africa.
